Insomnia Relief offers assessment tools and a multimedia programmes for relief from insomnia using sleep hygiene, stimulus control, and visualisation techniques.
There are two parts to the assessment process within Insomnia Relief:
- The 'Sleep Indicator' will help you evaluate the quality and quantity of your sleep. The questions within this section are based directly on the criteria for insomnia that are set out in the manual used by clinicians to make a diagnosis (DSM III.)
- The 'Sleep Assessment Questionnaire' simply identifies the factors that are likely to be contributing to your difficulties sleeping. Therefore this part of the module is intended to help you identify and rectify poor sleeping habits.
Insomnia assessment tools used within Insomnia relief were developed by Professor Terry Looker, Dr Olga Gregson, and sleep expert Dr Ken Hume, from Manchester Metropolitan University.
The Sleep Assessment Questionnaire was developed specifically for Insomnia Relief and is based on the extensive literature and published experimental base.
The core content of the Insomnia module is based on accepted and validated methods of dealing with insomnia and also includes a variety of techniques which individuals may find useful in their sleep management.
Insomnia Relief offers validated assessment tools and multimedia personal programmes for relief from insomnia using proven sleep hygiene, stimulus control, and visualisation techniques. Insomnia Relief includes two assessments. These were developed by Professor Terry Looker, Dr Olga Gregson, and Dr Ken Hume at the Manchester Metropolitan University. Dr Hume is an expert in sleep.
